eddie fisher elizabeth taylor getty Eddie Fisher, legendary crooner, dies at age 82Eddie Fisher passed away Wednesday night (Sept. 22) from complications from hip surgery, his daughter Tricia Leigh Fisher tells the Associated Press.

Fisher married Debbie Reynolds in 1955 and with her had two children, Carrie Fisher, most famous for playing Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” movies, and Todd. He left Reynolds and married Elizabeth Taylor in 1959 after comforting her upon the death of her husband Mike Todd, who was Fisher’s best friend.

Taylor left Fisher in 1964 for Richard Burton and Fisher went on to marry Connie Stevens in 1967. They had two children, actress Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.
