Looks like the stylists are talking their music star clients into practicing Safe Chic. This year’s music industry awards looked more sedate than the Oscars and a far cry from the always exciting and sexy Grammys of years past. There were fewer Versaces and far more elegant lady-like gowns by Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera, Ungaro, Valentino and Michael Kors. Pretty but yawn-enducing. Black and gold was a strong trend seen on Hilary Duff and the Dixie Chicks. But what’s up with all the triple and quadriple dangling drop circle earrings worn by Nelly Furtado, Carrie Underwood, Fergie and other nominees? Did everyone shop at the same jewelry boutique?
Anyway, I’m heading out to some Grammy bashes around town so you won”t hear from me for the rest of the night. If I don’t blog by morning, call the cops and tell them to check the premises of Sony-BMG party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Request that they search the shrubbery thoroughly. Foliage can be treacherous, especially on All Grammies Eve.
