Elijah Wood, a star who has already had a lot of silver screen success, is heading to the small screen to try his hand at TV. And he chose a quirky buddy comedy called “Wilfred.” Above are Wood and his co-stars at the “Wilfred” premiere in Hollywood.
“Wilfred” is based on an Australian short film and subsequent TV series of the same name, written by star Jason Gann (above, left). Gann plays the titular character, a pet dog named Wilfred. Everybody sees him how he is – as a dog. Except Wood’s Ryan, who sees him as an Australian man in a dog suit.
Rounding out the cast are Fiona Gubelmann (above, middle) who plays Wilfred’s owner and Ryan’s neighbor Jenna and Dorian Brown (above, right) as Kristen, Ryan’s controlling and bossy older sister.
“Wilfred” premieres Thursday, June 23 at 10 p.m. ET on FX, followed by the Season 2 premiere of “Louie.” Check out Elijah’s interview on “Late Night” where he talks about his new show.
