And now, for a story full of zero surprises!
When Michael Moore stopped by “The View” this week, we’re sure he wasn’t expecting to be added to Elisabeth Hasselbeck‘s Christmas card list. Sure enough, the liberal and conservative of it all had them sparring shortly after he joined the ladies on stage.
The debate, if you can call it that, began after Moore reiterated his belief that Osama Bin Laden should have been captured, alive, and brought to the United States for trial.
“I think that we did a very smart thing putting the Nazis on trial,” he said.
“That was after the war was over,” Hasselbeck interrupted.
“The war is over,” Moore replied.
“Michael! We’re still at war!” Hasselbeck said.
“My point is that the way we show the world that we’re different is that we give even the most heinous person their day in court,” Moore says.
Hasselbeck, irate, implied that the U.S. justice system would not adequately handle Bin Laden’s case. “You’re telling me Osama bin Laden deserves a trial? Where? In New York
City? Absolutely not! How dare — and why, because Casey Anthony’s trial
went so well?”
