Elton John spent a day at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles undergoing treatment for a “serious respiratory infection” that forced him to cancel several Las Vegas performances.
John became ill, reports the Los Angeles Times, while performing his show, “The Million Dollar Piano,” at Vegas’ Colosseaum at Ceasar’s Palace. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai in L.A. where he was told to take at least seven days off from work to avoid any permanent damage.
In a statement posted to his official website, John apologized to his fans, writing, “All I can say to the fans is sorry I can’t be with you. I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace.”
The show will go on, however. John is scheduled to return to Vegas in October for more shows.
