A new season of “Extreme Weight Loss” is already in production, ABC announced on Monday (July 1).
Currently airing Season 3, the show follows “super obese” people for a full year as they make major lifestyle changes in an effort to lose weight. Because of the lengthy production schedule, ABC has been forced to make renewal decisions earlier than it would for other shows.
Season 4 of “Extreme Weight Loss” will include 13 two-hour episodes and will see the return of host and trainer Chris Powell. In a format adjustment, the first 90 days of treatment will take place at University of Colorado’s Anschutz Health and Wellness Center, where facility medical director Dr. Holly Wyatt will work alongside Powell in helping the participants shed the pounds.
“Extreme Weight Loss” currently airs Tuesdays nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
