Model and designer Elle Macpherson won’t be the face of “Fashion Star,” the NBC reality competition she helped create, for Season 2. The executive producer says that although she’ll still be involved behind the scenes, she won’t be the host when the show returns.
“I have been involved with ‘Fashion Star’ from the beginning, and am
very proud to see it come to life, not only in America but globally,”
Macpherson tells the New York Post. “The show is in great hands, and
although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very
involved [and] will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season.”
So, what does that mean, exactly?
Well, judges Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie are sticking around, but H&M is out as one of the retail buyers. Reportedly, producers are considering axing a host altogether, and the way the show is laid out could change when “Fashion Star” returns for Season 2.
Designer Kara Laricks won Season 1, and had her collection featured in the buyers’ stores — H&M, Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.
