Designer Sarah Parrott is having a banner season on “Fashion Star,” as the only contestant who has sold a piece every week so far the show has aired. She tells the press that she’s enjoying the ride and isn’t looking back on what she could have done differently.

“I always look back and think I wish I would’ve done this or I wish I
would’ve done that,” says Parrot. “But I’ve been fortunate to be in H&M and for me
so far it’s been an amazing ride. I’m pushing forward and not really
looking back at what I’ve done wrong.”

As for the show experience, she let us in on a little secret – the designers get much more critiquing than we see on TV, due to time constraints.

“What you don’t see is that we do get critiques from all three buyers and all three mentors … They’re only just showing one, but we get feedback from all three on every single showcase,” says Parrot.

“I came into this and the whole point of the show obviously is to build a brand. In building that brand, you want to remain true to your aesthetic. That’s what sets you apart from other designers,” she continues. “Obviously, I clearly have a niche for H&M. For me, I don’t think that’s a bad thing. For me, that obviously shows that I do have a clear vision on my aesthetic. That I am brand recognizable.”

“Fashion Star” airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
