Carl Magnus Lindgren is one of two senior chefs from The Fat Duck — Heston Blumenthal‘s Michelin-starred UK restaurant — who were killed in a tragic car crash in Hong Kong.
The chefs, who were visiting on business, were riding in a taxi when it was struck by a double-decker bus.
Along with 30-year-old Lindgren, Jorge Ivan Arango Herrera, 34, and taxi driver, Wong Kim-Chung, 53, were confirmed dead after the taxi was pinned between the bus that struck them and a second bus that was struck.
Speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for The Fat Duck calls the men “two uniquely talented young chefs that were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed.”
According to Hong Kong police, 56 people were injured in the collision. The bus driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and subsequently released on bail.
An investigation is pending.
