“Last Comic Standing” crowned its seventh winner Monday night (Aug. 9), with Felipe Esparza taking home the title and a $250,000 prize.
Esparza beat out Tommy Johnagin for the title in NBC’s two-hour season finale. Roy Wood Jr. came in third place.
Esparza had a relatively easy road to the finals — he only really had to sweat it out two weeks ago, when he and Rachel Feinstein were the last two left. He got the pass to the next round, though, and on Monday night viewers voted him the best of this season’s crop. He joins past winners Iliza Shlesinger — who also performed Monday — Jon Reep, Josh Blue, Alonzo Bodden, John Heffron and Dat Phan.
He’ll also get an NBC talent deal in addition to his quarter million bucks.
