flash ernie hudson ghostbusters arrow gi 'Flash' gets a Ghostbuster? Ernie Hudson may join the 'Arrow' spinoff

The possible “Flash” spinoff to “Arrow” hasn’t even filmed its pilot yet, but there’s a chance that a Ghostbuster will co-star in the show. Ernie Hudson, best-known for playing Winston in the “Ghostbusters” films, hinted that he was up for a major role in “Flash.”

Hudson dropped hints about his involvement during the Cross the Streams podcast. At about five minutes into the interview, Hudson mentioned an upcoming project. “There’s a spinoff of ‘Arrow’ called ‘Flash,'” the actor explained. “I’m meeting the creators next week. So I have to prepare for that.”

But who would Hudson play on the show? The actor didn’t want to divulge too much information, but he did mention something about being an “adoptive dad” to Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).

According to ComicBookMovie.com, this could mean that Hudson is a possibility to play Detective West. The site further describes this man as “a surrogate father to Barry … He took in Barry after his mother’s murder and his father’s imprisonment.” West is also the father of a character named Iris.

This isn’t set news yet, of course. Full casting has not been announced for the “Flash” pilot, let alone any future series. Only Gustin’s character, introduced in two recent episodes of “Arrow,” is certain.
