“There she is, Miss … Congresswoman?” That could be the tune Erika Harold, Miss America 2003, is singing soon. The 32-year-old Harvard Law School graduate is considering a run for the U.S. House as the Republican nominee in Illinois’ new 13th Congressional District.
Harold tells the State Journal-Register that when U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson, R-Urbana, announced that he didn’t want another two-year term, people in the district reached out to her.
“I am completely humbled and honored,” she says. “I understand what an awesome responsibility it is to represent people’s interests and to be their advocate in Washington, D.C.”
She goes on to say that she’s exploring the possibility but hasn’t made any decisions yet.
Do you think Harold would make a good representative?
