Richardschiff_inplainsight_290 FOX has added a third new series to its roster for the fall, giving the go-ahead for a drama called “Past Life.”

The showbiz trades are reporting that the network gave the thumbs-up to producer Warner Bros. TV late Thursday. “Past Life” follows a team of investigators who work rather unconventionally — delving into clients’ previous lives to solve problems in this one.

The cast includes former “West Wing” star Richard Schiff, Kelli Giddish (“All My Children”), Ravi Patel (“Easy Money”) and Nicholas Bishop. “Friday Night Lights” and “Everwood” veteran David Hudgins created the show.

“Past Life” joins two other shows, “Human Target” and “Sons of Tucson,” on the FOX docket for next season. Since the network has “Glee” and “The Cleveland Show” on tap for fall as well, it’s not likely to add much more new product to the mix for the first part of the season. The comedy “Brothers” does remain a contender, the trades say.

Meanwhile, FOX and its sibling 20th Century Fox TV are still negotiating a license fee for the fifth season of “Bones.” A deal isn’t final yet, but it’s expected to be worked out in time for the network’s upfront presentation on Monday.
