courtney love frances bean cobain gi Frances Bean Cobain: Courtney Love killed the family petsIn newly-released deposition papers filed by Frances Bean Cobain in 2009 when she was seeking a restraining order against her mom, Courtney Love, Cobain alleges that Love’s behavior was responsible for the death of two family pets.

Frances Bean alleges that her cat died after becoming entangled in piles of fabric and boxes ordered from Etsy (Love is still an active Etsy shopper) and that a dog died after swallowing a pile of prescription pills that Love left laying around.

In the restraining order, obtained by The Fix, Frances Bean’s surviving dog — Uncle Fester — was also protected from coming into contact with Love.

The then 17-year-old also wrote this description of her mother’s condition:

“[My mother] has taken drugs for as long as I can remember. She basically exists now on… Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes. She rarely eats…. She often falls asleep in her bed while she is smoking, and I am constantly worried that she will start a fire (which she has done at least three times) that will threaten our lives.”

She adds that Love was also obsessed with routing out fraud against herself and Frances Bean:

“My mother is obsessed with uncovering fraud and spends much of her day raging about the fraud that has been perpetrated on her and on me. She incessantly rages about her many theories relating to the supposed incidences of ‘fraud.’ She slams doors, breaks things, stomps around the hotel or apartment and spends hours on the phone, yelling.”

Backed by testimony from Frances Bean’s male nanny and others, the restraining order was granted.
