lisa kudrow friends rumors 'Friends' reunion: Lisa Kudrow believed the rumors too

If you were fooled by the rumors of a possible “Friends” reunion, don’t feel too gullible: Lisa Kudrow believed it was true, too.

The 50-year-old actress, who played Phoebe Buffay in the uber-successful sitcom, thought that the rumors of the show being revived were true, and was actually upset that she hadn’t been asked to come back for it.

“Okay, first of all, the graphic for this one thing was unbelievable. It looked really real,” Kudrow reveals on “Conan.” “And then they were posting this article and the headline was like, ‘NBC Confirms 5 out of 6 of the ‘Friends’ Are In,’ and I went, ‘Oh my God. They didn’t ask me’.”

The story Kudrow is referencing ran earlier this year when StarMedia posted an article with what looked like a publicity shot of the “Friends” cast members coming together for the reunion that would be ready for November 2013. Kudrow said she felt sorry for fans who held out hope that the rumors were true … because she was hoping for a reunion as well.

“I honestly just feel really bad just by saying, ‘And that was actually never something that was ever going to happen.’ You’re disappointing [the fans],” Kudrow says. “And people got mad at me recently because I had said, ‘No, no. That’s never going to happen.’ They were angry, like I’m the one who shut it down.”
