friends the one with all the thanksgivings clip 'Friends' Thanksgiving episodes lists: We rank the rankings

It’s Thanksgiving, and you know what that means. No, we aren’t talking about bonding with family, spending all day cooking and prepping a feast, or eating turkey. It’s time to rank all the Thanksgiving episodes of one of the all-time greatest series, “Friends!”

We’re hardly the first TV-loving website to take on this all-important task, though. In fact, it seems like everyone’s doing it this year. So instead of ranking the 10 T-giving episodes, we’re going to rank all the other rankings and see how everyone else’s lists fare. Did Buzzfeed get the order right, or did E! Online? How about VH1? Who got it right, and who got it woefully wrong?

Worthy try, but Buzzfeed made more than one critical error in their “Friends” ranking. They did get the No. 1 spot correct: “The One With All the Thanksgivings,” a.k.a. when Monica puts a turkey on her head to apologize for chopping off Chandler’s toe at a past Thanksgiving, and he says “I love you” for the first time.

But how are “The One With Chandler in a Box” and “The One Where Ross Got High” so far down on the list? Buzzfeed ranks them at No. 6 and 7, respectively, whereas we would have put them at No. 2 and 3. Not only are these episodes in the top three of the best “Friends” Thanksgiving  episodes ever, but they’re also some of the best “Friends” episodes of the entire series. “It tastes like feet!” and “Fine, judge all you want to, but married a lesbian, left a man at the altar, fell in love with a gay ice dancer, threw a girl’s wooden leg in a fire, and live in a box!” are two of any “Friends” fan’s most memorable quotes of the series.

E! Online

A much better ranking than Buzzfeed’s, E! Online got the top 2 correct, though we would argue that they’re in the wrong order.

They also got No. 5 correct: “The One With the Football,” a.k.a. the episode that takes place mostly outside the apartment and where Ross and Monica’s Gellar competitiveness was out in full force. Plus, the Gellar cup!

And while we love Brad Pitt‘s guest-starring role as Rachel’s biggest hater (this was back when he and Jennifer Aniston were still Hollywood’s It couple so it was hilarious and not at all heartbreaking like it is now) in “The One With the Rumor,” it should go at No. 6. That way, “The One Where Chandler Doesn’t Like Dogs” can be No. 4 instead of all the way down at No. 9, because who can forget Ross’ commitment to getting all 50 states in that stupid state game before he could join everyone for dinner?

We can’t really argue with VH1’s top rankings, as they’re pretty similar to ours. But our biggest grievance? How on earth did they put “The One With Chandler In a Box” all the way down at No. 9? The horror! They somehow believe that “The One With Rachel’s Other Sister” is better, slotting Christina Applegate‘s random guest appearance (Seriously, we didn’t know that Rachel even had another sister until Season 9? That just seems wrong) at No. 7. That’s criminal.

They also put “The One With the List” above it at No. 8, but it doesn’t really count as a Thanksgiving episode since they never really celebrated Thanksgiving. But it’s still included in rankings since it’s technically a T-giving episode. We’d just slot it at No. 10.

And so, without further ado, here is Zap2it‘s rankings of all the “Friends” Thanksgiving episodes:

10. “The One With the List”

9. “The One With Rachel’s Other Sister”

8. “The One Where Underdog Gets Away”

7. “The One With the Late Thanksgiving”

6. “The One With the Rumor”

5. “The One With the Football”

4. “The One Where Chandler Doesn’t Like Dogs”

3. “The One With Chandler In a Box”

2. “The One Where Ross Got High”

1. “The One With All the Thanksgivings”
