Isaac Hempstead-Wright has an interesting storyline ahead of him in “Game of Thrones” Season 3. Hs character Bran and onscreen brother Rickon might be on the run with the wildling Osha and the Winterfell resident Hodor, but that doesn’t stop them from meeting two new characters early on in the new season: Thomas Brodie Sangster‘s Jojen and Ellie Kendrick‘s Meera.

Zap2it caught up with Hempstead-Wright on the “Game of Thrones” Season 3 premiere red carpet and asked him how adding two new characters to Bran’s storyline will change it’s dynamic. He gushed about how great it was to work with Sangster and Kendrick, and also teased that Bran’s storyline is getting “more intense.”

“Thomas and Ellie, loveliest people ever, and it was really cool to have these new people in Bran’s storyline. They sort of added this really interesting new aspect to it in terms of characters,” Hempstead-Wright said. “Bran’s storyline is definitely getting more intense and more interesting this season.”

Beyond meeting new characters, Bran will learn more about his ability to warg. This hasn’t been a major plotline in the previous two seasons of “Game of Thrones,” but Hempstead-Wright confirmed that it will be in Season 3.

“So far we haven’t [discussed warging] at all, but I think his sort of visions are getting far more intense now and it’s all very cryptic and very interesting. It’s going to be interesting. It’s going to be good this season,” Hempstead-Wright said. “I think it’s definitely getting more intense for Bran this season. Before he’s sort of just been hanging out in Winterfell doing very little and now I think his storyline is definitely picking up more so than in other seasons.”

Hempstead-Wright also opened up about two TV series he loves so much that he brags about being an “enthusiast” on his Twitter: “The Simpsons” and “Spongebob Squarepants.”

“I love both ‘Simpsons’ and ‘Spongebob.’ I think they’re some of the funniest shows ever. ‘Spongebob’ never fails to cheer me up if I’m ever sad,” he said with a laugh. “[‘Spongebob’ has] been going on for so long, and it just gets better and better and better. I love it.”

It turns out Hempstead-Wright actually came face-to-face with the voice actor for Spongebob himself, Tom Kenny. “I was in a recording studio and Spongebob, the guy who plays him, was right there. He just left before I could sort of say hi to him,” the “Game of Thrones” star lamented.

“Game of Thrones” returns to HBO on March 31 at 9 p.m. ET.
