Wherever he is, Rickon won’t be popping up in “Game of Thrones” Season 5.
Winter Is Coming reports both Art Parkinson, who plays youngest Stark child Rickon, and Natalia Tena, who plays his wildling protector Osha, will be MIA this season of “Game of Thrones.” Both characters were absent in Season 4 as well after parting ways with their traveling companions — Rickon’s brother Bran, Bran’s protector Hodor, and the Reed siblings, Jojen and Meera — at the end of Season 3.
It seems the “Where’s Rickon?” disease is contagious, as both Meera and Hodor won’t be in Season 5 either. Kristian Nairn revealed he and Ellie Kendrick will be absent from the upcoming season after during their duty and delivering Isaac Hempstead-Wright’s Bran to the three-eyed raven in the Season 4 finale.
As for Rickon and Osha, it makes sense that neither would be appearing in the upcoming “Thrones” season. Both haven’t reappeared in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series after parting ways with the main group either, though rumor has it they’re off in Skagos
At this point, Rickon and Osha will have spent about as much time on the show as they have off it. At a certain point, it seems inevitable that viewers will start asking “Who’s Rickon?” instead of questioning where he is.
