game of thrones weekly ratings hbo 'Game of Thrones' weekly ratings are on par with 'The Walking Dead'“Game of Thrones” is doing pretty well for itself in Season 4. Not only is the 2014 season bringing in record night-of ratings for the series, but it’s also performing incredibly well in the week after the episode airs.

HBO released weekly ratings information for Season 4, and according to The Hollywood Reporter “Game of Thrones” has been averaging 18 million viewers a week. That number includes the first-run ratings, encore showings and HBO Go and on demand viewings.
That ranks “Game of Thrones” right up with the most-watched shows on television. Cable ratings champion “The Walking Dead” averaged 18.4 million viewers in Live +7 numbers, while only three Big Four network shows clock in over 18 million in Live +7 numbers: “The Big Bang Theory,” “Sunday Night Football” and “NCIS.”
While it’s hard to truly compare HBO’s week-after viewing tactics with those of AMC, NBC and CBS, these are still fantastic numbers for the cable network. HBO’s current ratings high was the 18.2 million people who tuned in for “The Sopranos” series finale, and at this point in time “Game of Thrones” is getting close to passing that number. No wonder it’s already renewed for two more seasons.
