Walt Disney Concert Hall — the site of L.A.’s classiest cultural events — will get a real taste of awards culture Sept. 16 when it becomes the site of Entertainment Tonight and People’s annual collaborative Emmy Party.

The ultimate Hollywood Insider party –- with decor by Larry Abel De-Signs — will begin at 7:30 with a viewing of the TV awards show and — woo-hoo! —  a chance to watch Emmy-nominated shows on the new LG VX9400 mobile TV phone. Then guests can devour chef Joachim Splichal and Patina Catering’s culinary delights. Just hope everyone saves room for the Godiva Chocolatier tree of treats, including fresh strawberries, brownies, macaroons and marshmallows drowned in chocolate.

And what’s an awards party without freebies? For guests who want to spruce up after the show, before the big stars arrive, Maybelline New York and Garnier Beauty Bar are offering consulations and cosmetic and skin-care giveaways. And did I mention the sought-after ET Emmy party gift bag? Think high-end products from CBS Home Entertainment, Crabtree & Evelyn, C.O. Bigelow, Pier 1 Imports and assorted massage and beauty gift certificates. It’s a load, but definitely worth lugging home. Just throw it in the limo.

Jason Bentley –- one of KCRW/89.9 FM’s hottest hosts –- will be the DJ for the night, but there’s still no news about who the headlining musical talent will be. Despite rumors, it definitely won’t be Mary J.Blige, Bon Jovi or Barry Manilow. “All I can say is that they’re big,” said a PR source for the party. “Very big.”

And hey, the valet parking has got to be better than it was at the Mondrian. NO way it could be worse. I think people are still waiting for their cars from last year’s party.
