kurt glee sunset boulevard 'Glee': 'As If We Never Said Goodbye' from 'Sunset Boulevard' sees Kurt back at McKinleyWhile we’re certainly enjoyed the introduction of the Warblers and Kurt’s budding romance with Blaine on “Glee,” it was wonderful to see Kurt (Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer) back with his real family at McKinley High.

In an episode filled with Lady Gaga music, “As If We Never Said Goodbye” might be a bit obscure, but it was the perfect song to welcome Kurt back.

“Sunset Boulevard” is a musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber based on the 1950 movie of the same title. Norma Desmond is an aging star trying to stage a comeback and when she finally gets back on the Paramount Pictures lot, “As If We Never Said Goodbye” is her anthem.

The part of Norma has been played over the years by theatre legend Patti Lupone, Glenn Close (who won a Tony for her “Sunset” role), Elaine Page, Petula Clark and “West Side Story” Oscar winner Rita Moreno. Fitting company for Kurt, as he more than held his own on the song.

Below is Kurt’s version of the song and below that is Glenn Close performing it..
