chord overstreet glee tap 320 'Glee': Chord Overstreet not returning for Season 3“Glee” has cut the chord, y’all. For good.

It’s no secret that a large number of “Glee” fans were outraged when it was announced the show didn’t pick up Chord Overstreet‘s option to make him a series regular on the FOX megahit. In fact, we’re pretty sure the news almost shut down the Internet.
Shortly after the news broke, creator Ryan Murphy told THR, “I’ve never seen such a huge amount of stories about somebody’s option not being picked up — particularly when they were always, in my mind, coming back to the show.”
Now? Not so much.
At the “Glee” Comic-Con panel on Sunday, co-creator and executive producer Brad Falchuk dropped a bombshell on the unsuspecting audience: Chord Overstreet will not appear this season at all.
“We did invite him back for a portion of the season, to see if being a regular was a possibility,” Falchuk said. “But he declined the offer, which we were really disappointed by.” Overstreet was reportedly asked to return for 10 episodes with the opportunity to become a series regular in the second half of the season.
Falchuk went on to explain that they did have a storyline in mind for everyone’s favorite gold-short wearing blond. “We wanted him back because we like Chord personally and had some good stories planned for him and with Mercedes (Amber Riley),” he explained. “He decided he would have opportunities elsewhere that he would like to pursue, and we can’t force him to work, so we wished him well.”
Your move, Overstreet. Your move.
