lea michele cosmo cover 'Glee': Lea Michele's Cosmo cover makes moms mad and teenage boys 'confused and offended'Lea Michele and her “Glee” co-star Dianna Agron stirred up some controversy when they posed in provocative photos for GQ’s October 2010 issue (Note: Cory Monteith did not stir up controversy, presumably because he’s a dude) and now it looks like Ms. Michele is at it again.

Michele’s March cover of Cosmopolitan features her in a plunging neckline, revealing plenty of skin but not a whole lot of cleavage. Let’s face it… she’s not Sofia Vergara.

Fox News found some moms who are absolutely appalled by the photos. The parents claim that because Michele plays a high school “good girl” on TV, she should uphold that image off-screen as well. No word on whether these parents understand what “acting” means, but we’d imagine they expect Jane Lynch to berate children in the street and Kevin McHale to remain wheelchair-bound at all times when in public.

“I think Lea Michele is sending the wrong message. She plays such a ‘good girl’ on ‘Glee’ and a lot of kids look up to her persona. Then she poses very provocatively on two magazine covers which makes my almost-13-year-old son very confused and offended,” says one mom.

Yeah, lady. We’re sure your son, who really should understand the difference between an actor and a character by age 13, is really, really “offended.”

“It’s irresponsible to be using an adult who represents a minor dressed in provocative clothes,” says another mom. Apparently, these parents are also offended by the content of the article, in which Michele mentions drinking wine and Skype-ing with her longtime boyfriend, who lives in New York. For the record, Michele is 24 years old.

Sigh. As for Cosmo, they issued the following statement: “We’re thrilled to feature Lea Michele on the March cover of Cosmopolitan
magazine and think she looks stunning.  Michele is a grown woman and
Cosmopolitan is a magazine is for adults.”
