Monteith, now 30, was previously sent to rehab at age 19 to treat drug addiction.

“Anything and everything, as much as possible,” he told Parade magazine when asked about his drug of choice. “I had a serious problem … I stole a significant amount of money from a family member. I knew I was going to get caught, but I was so desperate I didn’t
care. It was a cry for help. I was confronted and I said, ‘Yeah, it was
me.’ It was the first honorable, truthful thing that had come out of my
mouth in years.”

It is unknown how
Monteith’s course of treatment will affect his filming schedule or
whether his character, Finn, will be absent from any further episodes of “Glee.”

There has been no comment from Monteith’s girlfriend and co-star, Lea Michele, but she did tweet, “Feeling so grateful today <3,” on Sunday, when Monteith checked into the facility. Monteith tweeted a similar message, “such a beautiful day! truly seeing the forest for the trees. #gratitude,” earlier this week.

UPDATE: Michele has now spoken out about Monteith’s decision to enter rehab. Read what she has to say here.
