Theresa Labarbera Whites, Senior VP of A&R for Columbia Records, has announced that “Glee” star Naya Rivera, who broke out this season as her character, Santana, struggled with her sexuality, is the latest Gleek to score a solo record deal.  In an update with Billboard Magazine, Whites confirmed that she’s spending her summer working on several projects, including Rivera’s solo effort, a project from the reunited Dixie Chicks, and the upcoming Beyonce album, 4. This will be 24-year-old Rivera’s first record, though she has been working since 1991, and she took up songwriting at age 15. [Billboard]

When we think of billionaires, we don’t exactly associate them with having to kill their own meat, but Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg does just that. As a way to “embrace new sustainable food models,” Zuck has been doing the killing on his own (but not actually hunting the animals) under the eye of a celebrity chef. “He cut the throat of the goat with a knife, which is the most kind way to do it,” Chef Jesse Cool says. After Zuck kills the animals, he sends them to a butcher for the hard part. “Zuckerberg and his longtime girlfriend, Priscilla, have been cooking
what he slaughters, eating what many people would not dare consume. He
recently ate a chicken, including the heart and liver, and used the feet
to make stock. He posted a photo of the bird on his Facebook page,
along with a list of the dishes he made from it.” Um… okay. [Fortune]

Kara Dioguardi‘s recently released book shares some insight into the songs she’s written for today’s most popular artists, including “Come Clean” for Hilary Duff, which went on to be used as the theme song for MTV’s “Laguna Beach.” “It represented me breaking away from the heavy hand of others and their creative vision. It was a return to me and my own creativity, and it still struck a chord with Hilary. But that’s what songs do. They communicate unique perspectives in a universal way. I always cringe in the bridge when she sings ‘I’m coming’ – she was like thirteen. That was just wrong,” she writes. [Hilary Fan]

Christina Aguilera wasted no time in getting back to the nightlife after her arrest for public intoxication. On Friday night, she and boyfriend Matthew Rutler emerged from The Beverly club in Beverly Hills with her telltale red lipstick smeared… all over his face. Onlookers said Christina “needed a helping hand” from Rutler to get back to their car. Earlier in the night, they’d dined at Mozza… the same restaurant they’d come from on the night of their arrest.
