glen campbell getty Glen Campbell discusses Alzheimer's diagnosis on 'Nightline'Country music legend Glen Campbell took to ABC’s “Nightline” Tuesday (Aug. 23) for his first TV interview since disclosing he is battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Campbell, 75, announced in June he’s been diagnosed with the degenerative condition that affects a victim’s memory, thinking and behavior.

The “Rhinestone Cowboy” singer jokingly tells Terry Moran, “I don’t even know where it came from.” He then adds, “I haven’t felt [the effects] yet.”

Sitting alongside his wife of nearly 30 years, Kim Woollen, the Grammy winner talks about his health and his plans for a farewell tour before retiring from music.

Campbell began his music career as a session player and performed on the Beach Boys famed “Pet Sounds” album. Since then he’s earned worldwide fame for songs like “Wichita Lineman” and “Gentle on my Mind.”
