good morning america new anchors 290 'Good Morning America': George Stephanopoulos' first day“Good Morning America” welcomed new anchor George Stephanopoulos on Monday morning. How’d it go?

The first story of the morning is President Obama’s meeting with the bank executives today. Stephanopoulos interviews the President’s Senior Advisor David Axelrod, who has Stephanopoulos’ old office at the White House.

After addressing the President’s plan to talk to the bankers about financial reform and the issue of bonuses, Axelrod gives Stephanopoulos a gift from everyone at the White House — an alarm clock that is permanently set for 3:30 am.

JuJu Chang also took over the news desk. She’s been a correspondent for ABC at “20/20” and for the last few years, so it isn’t really anything new for her. She is still her professional, friendly self.

The big news is G-Steph joining the ‘GMA’ crew. Overall, we missed Diane Sawyer but Stephanopoulos was actually more likable than we were expecting him to be. How do you think George Stephanopoulos did on his first day?
