gossip girl bachelorette cw 'Gossip Girl': Blair gets blitzed, Nate gets his manPoor Blair. She probably thought that life as the future Princess of Monaco would mean extreme wealth, world travel and relaxation. Little did she realize that those royals are pretty darn good at scheming too, and she’s going to need every trick she’s ever learned just to keep up. But first, let’s revisit Nate’s investigation of the car wreck.

[Spoiler Alert]

Nate (Chace Crawford) was troubled to find out (and rightly so) that the actual target of the accident that nearly killed Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) was him. He just had the good fortune to hop in the wrong limo. So Nate, working with Serena (Blake Lively) and the force of evil herself, Gossip Girl, look to root out the rat. It’s actually quite an ingenious plan that involves a lot of moving parts. But in the end, the perpetrator is probably who we should have suspected all along. Next time Trip (Aaron Tveit) should just get a therapist rather than attempt to kill someone. But that’s for him and the criminal court system to work out.

Then there’s Blair. The royal in waiting is being played by so many sides right now it’s almost dizzying. That said, she probably didn’t do herself any favors by going to confessional and admitting to Father Cavalia (Marc Menard) that she still dreams about Chuck, saying, “I’m growing weak.” The scheming man of the cloth will ultimately look to use this information against her. The first step is an unholy alliance with Chuck himself.

On the other side there’s Beatrice (Roxane Mesquida), Louis sister. She’s still miffed that Blair is going to be the future queen instead of her. So she attempts to get Blair so tanked at the bachelorette party that she does something so unseemly and unqueenly that it torpedoes the entire wedding. And, as it does for most people, 10 shots of tequila sends Blair right down this path.

Once Blair is properly inebriated, Beatrice asks her, “Why are you marrying my brother when I know you’re not in love with him?” Strangely, Blair decides to answer. But her sweet and honest response about her love for Louis causes Beatrice a change of heart about being devious and underhanded. At least for now.

Then there’s the part where Blair confuses real NYPD for strippers in cop uniforms. But that’s just good clean fun.

Next week is the wedding. Something is sure to go awry, and it’ll likely involve Chuck.

Uh oh. Uh oh.
