Renee Zellweger has sold a pilot to Lifetime. The actress is a co-creator (with “Warrior” writer Anthony Tambakis) of “Cinnamon Girl,” a drama about four young women living in Los Angeles in the late 1960s and early ’70s, with the city’s music and movie scenes as a backdrop. [Deadline]

– FOX will try an unusual way to develop multi-camera sitcoms next summer: It has ordered what it’s calling “The Short-Com Comedy Hour,” which will feature four comedy vignettes in each hour (starring both new and established actors and comics), and the best of them could be ordered as full series. – USA has greenlit an American version of the British reality series “The Choir” featuring its star, choirmaster Gareth Malone. The show will debut in early 2013 and follow Malone as he puts together choirs in different American cities. [USA]
