Much of the haunted procedural “Grimm” has centered around Nick (David Giuntoli) as he solves crimes while attempting to understand his past. But very little of the series has focused on his fellow cop Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby). Well that’s about to change in an upcoming episode of the NBC series.

While at the Television Critics Association Winter press tour, Hornsby explains coyly, “There’s a love thing brewing [for Hank]…I’ll say this. You know the song ‘I Put A Spell On You?'” When asked if this meant a character was going to hypnotize Hank into falling in love with her, Hornsby simply says “Yes.”

Hornsby adds that, in the coming weeks, the show will further explore the mythology of the Grimms. This will be a much-appreciated change for fans of the series as, to date, producers have only explained discussed Nick’s background on a surface level.

“We’re going to delve deeper into the mythology of [Nick] and the history and the culture,” Hornsby says.

But he adds that it’s not going to be anything too fast. “We’re doing a nice slow build, a slow burn as far as bringing the audiences in to the mythological world,” he says.
