The Internet’s favorite sourpuss, Grumpy Cat, is getting her own TV movie when “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever” hits Lifetime this holiday season. The network is developing a Christmas movie about a cat who lives in a pet store and the 12-year-old girl who can communicate with her.
THR reports that the teenage daughters of Lifetime original movies VP Arturo Interian gave him the idea for the movie. “It brings fun and irreverence that we haven’t had at Lifetime,” he says. “We’re so known for our heartfelt sentimentality that it will poke fun at those stereotypes.”
Described as a mix of “Home Alone” and “Die Hard,” the movie will also feature other Internet memes and is currently casting the voice of little Grumpy, who is a tiny little thing thanks to her feline dwarfism.
