Lee Pace and Karen Gillan are arguably known best for their good-guy roles on television series’ like “Pushing Daisies” and “Doctor Who,” respectively. That’s why it’s especially exciting to TV fans that they’re both taking a turn for the villainous in Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
The duo made their San Diego Comic-Con debut as Ronan the Accuser and Nebula during Marvel’s July 20 panel. It was there that Gillan revealed her shaved head, but she also shared with Zap2it her other big change: her newly acquired fighting skills.
“I’m in intensive fight training at the moment, which is very exciting because I’m not much of a fighter in real life, but now I’m feeling very aggressive,” she says, showcasing some of her punching skills on Pace.
As for Pace, he stayed a bit more tight-lipped about his villainous role, though he did make it very clear that Ronan won’t be an ally to the Guardians of the Galaxy in this film.
“He’s bad,” Pace promises. “The character I play is rough.”
“Guardians of the Galaxy” is due in theaters on Aug. 1, 2014. The cast also includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Benicio del Toro and Djimon Hounsou.
