hachi dvd 'Hachi: A Dog's Tale' footage, behind the scenes interviewsWatch footage and behind-the-scenes interviews from the new-on-DVD “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” starring Richard Gere.

“Hachi” is based on the true story of a professor (Richard Gere) who adopts a lost Akita puppy he finds at a train station.

Every day Hachi shows up to greet Professor Parker Wilson when he arrives home from work, until one day when the professor passes away while at his office and doesn’t return home on the train.

Hachi continues to appear at the train station everyday, waiting for his master. DVD Town says the film is “a warm, genuine film that is appropriate for just about anybody.” Entertainment Weekly gives it an A-, calling it “a three-hankie gem.” We would imagine fans of “Marley & Me” might want to give this one a look. “Hachi” is available on DVD Tuesday, March 9.
