Don’t look to replicate Halle Berry’s brand-new engagement ring from beau Olivier Martinez. The 4-carat emerald comes from “closed-down mines in Muzo, Colombia and the color is perfect,” according to the jeweler who created the bauble.
The design also features a coded inscription in symbols that only Berry and Martinez understand, reports People. The ring was created by Martinez’s Paris neighbor, Robert Mazlo.
“The ring is textured and contains codes and symbols which you cannot see … only the person wearing it can,” the jeweler says. “It’s very uncommon. The symbols and codes represent [the couple’s] story and only they can interpret it.”
The couple’s engagement news broke on Sunday (March 11) when Martinez confirmed the news to the Miami Herald.
This will be Berry’s third trip down the aisle. She was previously married to baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet. She also has a daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
