When “Hannibal” returns for Season 2 in February, it will do so with a hungry zeal.
As evidenced in the just-released trailer for the new season, there will be more twisted murder tableaus, more tense drama and at least one fight that will drastically alter the face of the show.
“I’m going to remember, and when I do, there will be a reckoning,” Will warns the bad doctor.
Meanwhile, Laurence Fishburne‘s Jack Crawford seems to find himself in a position none of us would like the be in: Staring down the receiving end of Hannibal’s knife.
During a breakfast panel at NBC’s winter TCA press tour day on Sunday (Jan. 19), creator Bryan Fuller spoke on the graphic imagery of the series, which clearly won’t be letting up in Season 2.
“For me, with crime and crime stories, I’m sensitive. I look at dog videos all day to put me in a happy place,” he says, revealing how he avoids being too affected by the work.
Fuller adds that the key to the show is stylizing the violence in a way that makes it “purple and operatic.”
“We’re borderline fantasy with what we do on the show,” he says.
“Hannibal” returns for Season 2 on Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
