One of our favorite actors, Michael J. Fox, is turning 50 years old Thursday (June 9) and we thought to commemorate, we’d look back at our favorite roles of his.
It’s always a debate in our household whether it’s Alex. P. Keaton or Marty McFly as the favorite Michael J. Fox role, but we’ve gotta give the edge to Marty McFly. “Back to the Future” is one of the top see-on-TV-and-stop-everything-to-watch-even-though-we’ve-seen-it-1000-times movies. Above is the original theatrical trailer. We actually saw it in the theater!
But we can’t forget abotu “Family Ties,” so below is one of our favorite clips – Alex P. Keaton teaches preschool – “Who wants to be a Republican?” Hee. We also loved him in “Teen Wolf,” “Doc Hollywood,” “Spin City” and recently on “The Good Wife.”
Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 and went public in 1998. He has become a huge advocate for the disease, raising awareness and establishing the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000, which has become largest private funder of Parkinson’s disease research in the world, investing almost $180 million so far.
So Happy Birthday, Michael J. Fox. You were our first celebrity crush and you have gone on to be an inspiration to people all over the world.
