'Hart of Dixie's' Scott Porter talks Season 2 love triangle and where Jason Street is nowGeorge Tucker (Scott Porter) is ready to put up a fight for Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), but he may end up falling into some alone time on Season 2 of “Hart of Dixie.”

Porter chatted with Zap2It on Sunday (July 29) at the TCA press tour about George’s fate and what else fans can expect for The CW series’ second season.

The Season 2 premiere picks up the morning after George and Lemon Breeland’s (Jaime King) almost-wedding, and things are definitely in a state of unrest — particularly for George.
“You, at first, see him very focused and driven in forging ahead with life and thinking that his life is gonna be with Zoe, then very quickly finding out that that might not be the case,” Porter says. “You’re gonna see George lose a little bit of control, maybe spiral a bit, get a little scruffier, edgier, underdog-like George Tucker.”
The show’s main love triangle between Zoe, George and Wade Kinsella (Wilson Bethel) has been a driving force throughout all of Season 1, and from the sound of things, these boys won’t be letting go of her in the upcoming season. Porter tells us to expect both a figurative and literal wrestle between the two in their dealings with Dr. Hart. But George will be soul-searching while on his own too.

“He’s gonna be a little more selfish this year out of necessity. I think that when we’re alone we find out the most about ourselves,” Porter says.

As for his relationship with Lemon’s ex, Mayor Lavon Hayes (Cress Williams), who will be running for reelection this season, Porter says, “I don’t think you’re gonna see a lot of the two of them going after each other. The focus is shifting pretty rapidly, and so you’re gonna see the struggles being in a completely different triangle, a completely different set of people.”
And given that we were in the presence of television football royalty, we just had to ask Porter about his “Friday Night Light’s” character Jason Street.

“He’s really successful at the agency; he’s probably got a second kid at this point, a beautiful family, and he’s on top of the world,” Porter says. “Out of everyone on the show, Jason Street won. He won at life. He got out of Dillon; he has a successful job; he has a family, which he was told he’d never have. Even though he suffered a terrible injury, his life couldn’t have been better than it ended up being.”

“Hart of Dixie” returns to The CW on Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.
