anna shannon chickadee kaitlyn here comes honey boo boo 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' Season 3 finale: A proposal and a possum dropFor the Season 3 finale of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” it was all about what the Shannon-Thompson clan was doing leading up to the annual “Tallapoosa Possum Drop,” which is a real thing that happens for two different New Year’s Eve celebrations every year. The Tallapoosa one, thankfully, uses a taxidermied possum (as opposed to a live one).

Either way, it was just one of many down-home holiday activities in the special, like bobbing for hot dogs in vats of egg nog, “Slopoke Boggin'” at a giant mud pit, sledding at a hill with man-made snow and the “even-steven” burn-barrel tradition.

They also make New Year’s resolutions. Sugar Bear’s resolution is to give up chewing tobacco (“dippin'”), but Mama June is skeptical because he’s told that tale before. Meanwhile, Mama June resolves to get over her fear of mayonnaise. She goes to see a hypnotherapist (as one does), but it does not help, for Mama June is still completely grossed out when Honey Boo Boo makes her a mayo bath.

But the big news is that Michael comes over to ask Mama June and Sugar Bear if he can marry Anna (pictured above with baby Kaitlyn). He’s actually very sweet and earnest and earns Anna’s parents’ approval. Mama June then says what he really needs is Anna’s approval — and privately, she says, “Michael’s gonna make a good first husband.”

Anyway, Michael pops the question via a flashmob dance at the local pizzeria and a pizza that says, “Will you marry me?” He does have a beautiful ring for her, though, not just pizza. Anna says yes and seems very excited.

So, will Season 4 of “Honey Boo Boo” feature a wedding?! Mama June says they’re in production right now, but does not give anything away about the big day.
