hilary duff younger tv land gi Hilary Duff returns to TV in 'Younger,' TV Land comedy pilot

Hilary Duff might be newly single, but she’s just made a big commitment in her life. The former “Lizzie Maguire” lead is joining the TV Land pilot “Younger.”

The news, which was first reported by Deadline, says Duff will star opposite “Bunheads'” Sutton Foster in the single-camera comedy. Duff will play Kelsey, a “smart, ambitious 20-something” who works at a publishing firm alongside main character Liza (Foster).

The general premise of “Younger” is that 40-something Liza decides to lead a double life by pretending she’s a 29-year-old working girl in the city. In her real life, she’s a suburban mom, though she needs a change after her husband leaves her and her only child heads off to college. Duff’s character — oblivious to the fact Liza is a decade older — takes a liking to the firm newbie and “makes a concerted effort to integrate her into her social life.”

“Younger’s” pilot is written and executive produced by “Sex and the City” creator Darren Star. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Pamela Redmond Satran. Do you like the series’ premise, and are you excited to see Duff back in a TV comedy?
