wes craven getty Horror guru Wes Craven writing graphic novelWes Craven, the director behind such horror hits as “The Last House on the Left,” “The Hills Have Eyes,” the “Scream” movies and the “Nightmare on Elm Street” movies, is turning to print, in the form of a graphic novel.

According to Deadline, Liquid Comics is partnering with Craven and producer Arnold Rifkin to publish the four-issue graphic novel series starting in early 2011. Craven says in a statement, “It’s an idea I’ve been dying to get out there, and working in
collaboration with [Liquid’s] Sharad Devarajan and Arnold Rifkin will be
the ideal win/win way to do it.”

While this is Craven’s first foray into print, as he was the writer behind many of his projects, including “House,” “Hills,” the “Nightmare” movies, “Freddy vs Jason” and the Halloween weekend 2010 release “My Soul to Take,” which tells the tale of a serial killer stalking seven children who all have a birthday on the day he was supposedly killed.

Craven is currently directing “Scream 4,” which slashes its way into theaters in April 15, 2011.
