When Elizabeth Banks was first scheduled to appear on “Today” to promote her latest film, “The Lego Movie,” chances are she expected it to be a lighthearted interview. However, with the sudden death of Philip Seymour Hoffman Sunday (Feb. 2), it was a topic that couldn’t be avoided.
Banks, who co-starred with Hoffman in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” says she’s “still processing” his passing. “I really am in shock,” she adds.
The two will be seen on screen together again in the final two installments of “The Hunger Games,” which Hoffman had nearly finished filming when he died. “We will miss him terribly,” Banks says, “and obviously, [we’re] really upset for his children and his partner.”

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
