if you really knew vid 'If You Really Knew Me's' Challenge Day replaces 'The Hills' on MTVNow that MTV’s cinematic, not-really-reality-show “The Hills” is over and its counterpart “The City” is on hiatus, the network is making an interesting move by filling the time slot with real kids with real problems.

We can confidently say that this series will not be ending with a long shot of a studio backlot.

“If You Really Knew Me” is a show about Challenge Day, a revealing high school program in which leaders visit schools and try to demolish the social boundaries, emotional walls, and inevitable cliques so that high school students ultimately feel less alone and more understood.

The students cried, laughed, and revealed more about themselves in one day than Lauren Conrad did in her five years of reality TV. Serious issues like race, sex, and identity were battled in front of not only peers, but national television audience.

Challenge Day was founded by high school teacher, wrestling coach, family therapist and drug intervention specialist Rich Dutra and his wife, Yvonne, who has special training in working with at-risk youth. According to their Official site, “The Challenge Day mission is to provide youth and their communities with experiential programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth, and full expression.”
