The “Prince of Persia” and “Brokeback Mountain” star is in talks to star in a thriller about a soldier who finds himself transplanted into the body of a passenger aboard a train that’s just been bombed. He has to relive the crash over and over until he finds out who’s responsible.

The project has been kicking around for a couple years. Topher Grace was attached to star in a version of “Source Code” in 2007, but it didn’t get off the ground. Duncan Jones (“Moon”) is set to direct now, the showbiz trade papers report.

Gyllenhaal will next be seen in the drama “Brothers,” which is due for release in December.

– The writer, director
and studio executive who brought “Se7en” to the screen are working together again on a remake of the 1970s thriller “The Reincarnation of Peter Proud.”

David Fincher will direct the remake of “Peter Proud,” and Andrew Kevin Walker will write the script based on Max Ehrlich’s novel. Michael De Luca, who ran New Line at the time “Se7en” was released, is producing the movie along with Fincher, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“The Reincarnation of Peter Proud” centers on a college professor who has mysterious visions and figures out they’re glimpses of a past life. He’s eventually drawn to a woman and her daughter who may have been part of that previous life.

Fincher is gearing up to shoot “The Social Network,” a movie about the founders of Facebook. Walker co-wrote the screenplay for “The Wolfman,” which hits theaters in February.
