UPDATE: Jason Derulo confirms his split from Jordin Sparks in an interview with KDWB in Minneapolis. “Everything is cool man,” he says. “It’s not a bad situation, it’s not one of those kinds of things.” Zap2it‘s original story continues below:
The break-up comes as a shock to many, who were expected the love birds to get married after Derulo released his single “Marry Me,” which he openly admitted was about Sparks, last year.
Sparks was also very gushy about Derulo when Zap2it talked to her last December. “When the time is right that’ll definitely happen but we’re in a really, really, good place,” Sparks had said. “He loves me; I love him. We’ve had conversations about our future and things like that. We’re good.”
The couple were last seen in coordinated white outfits last month at the MTV Video Music Awards. Check out their red carpet interview about their perfect date night below.
According to the E! report, the break-up was mutual and two two are on good terms. They plan to remain in each other’s lives. It’s sad to see these two call it quits but at least they are keeping it civil.
