jay leno continues to mock nbc gi Jay Leno resumes mocking NBC: Ratings rise is an Easter 'miracle'

“Tonight Show” host Jay Leno is back at it, mocking NBC for their ratings trouble amid rumors that he’ll be out of a job soon. During Wednesday’s monologue, Leno noted NBC’s rise in ratings, due to the returns of “The Voice” and “Revolution.”
Leno says the returns “moved NBC in the number two position,” adding, “You know what that means? Between Easter and Passover, this is truly the season of miracles. We’re number two!” The host then joked, “I’ve been saying for the last week that NBC is a big number two. Haven’t I been saying that? Congratulations!”
After that, Jay talked about his job, rather than the network’s ratings. When mentioning a news report that cell phone provider T-Mobile is getting rid of contracts, Leno quipped, “Apparently they got the idea from NBC.”
According to reports, NBC is looking to hand the “The Tonight Show” over to Jimmy Fallon in 2014. Leno’s current contract with NBC ends in September 2014, but some at the network are hoping to give Fallon the show as early as next February. “Saturday Night Live” head writer Seth Meyers is currently the front runner to take over “Late Night” when Fallon moves on.
