jay z kanye west getty Jay Z and Kanye West settle copyright infringement suitJay-Z’s got 99 problems but his lawsuit with Kanye West ain’t one — at least not anymore. Blue Ivy’s dad and West settled the federal suit over their song “The Joy,” a track from the duo’s deluxe version of their “Watch the Throne” album.

Syl Johnson was suing the rappers for using an unauthorized sample of his song “Different Strokes.” Rolling Stone reports that papers were filed in Illinois last week indicating the suit has been dismissed. No details on what the settlement entailed.

West had apparently tried to get clearance to use the sample on his 2010 album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” but wasn’t able to get it in time for its release. He and Hova then put it on their album sans credit, payment or permission.

Johnson has previously filed copyright infringement suits against Michael Jackson, Jefferson Airplane and Cypress Hill.
