As we count down to the 2014 Emmy Awards, Zap2it is taking a closer look at each of the lead acting nominees for comedy and drama — and judging them not by their best work, but by some of the more dubious credits on their IMDB pages. So we ask you: Based on what you’re about to see, would you give this person an Emmy?
Jeff Daniels has had a long career in both TV and movies, and he’s doing arguably some of his best work to date on “The Newsroom.” He’s nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, which he won in 2013.
That doesn’t mean all of his roles were award-worthy, though. Zap2it decided to celebrate the upcoming 66th annual Emmy Awards with a fun look back at the other roles you might not remember. For Daniels, that means a time warp back to 1980, when he guest starred on an episode of “Hawaii Five-0” as Neal Forrester, a college student who uses radio-controlled model airplanes to steal jewels.
He might have forgotten about his appearance, but the line “Put the package in the little door marked ‘door’,” will live forever. Would you have ever guessed he would go on to win an Emmy? You can vote below.
Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
