Thursday night (Sept. 27) the stars came out for the “Butter” premiere at The Double Seven in New York City, then headed to the after party, hosted by the Cinema Society with DKNY, Forevermark and RenttheRunway.com and sponsored by Appleton Estate Rum from Jamaica.
Stars Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde and Alicia Silverstone were dolled up to promote their new satirical comedy. The movie tells the tale of an orphan girl whose adoptive family lives in Iowa. She discovers her knack for butter sculpting, which pits her against the reigning champ in the annual butter sculpting competition (Ty Burrell) and his uber-competitive wife (Garner).
The critics’ reviews are mixed, but lean toward most positive. Edward Douglas of Coming Soon writes, “A fairly simple and straight-forward competition comedy that’s much more
entertaining and endearing than one might imagine from the premise.”
“Butter” opens in limited release Friday, Oct. 5.
