jenny mccarthy the view howard stern Jenny McCarthy left 'The View' because she didn't want to 'censor' herselfIn a sit-down interview with Howard Stern, Jenny McCarthy opened up about the recent cast changes that saw the outspoken actress and coworker Sherri Shepherd booted from “The View” panel before Season 18 of the daytime talk show.

Was she fired? “Yes and no,” she tells the host. “I would call it: If I wanted to stay with Rosie and if I was a Republican I would still be there right now.”

McCarthy says she just wasn’t able to fit in on the panel. “I’ll tell you something, Howard,” she says. “Halfway into it, it was probably around February, I went, ‘God, I’m not allowed to be the best of me here.’ I feel like to have a voice, to be able to speak without having to interrupt people, it’s very difficult, and I don’t like doing it. It’s very uncomfortable, so I felt like, ‘You know what? Maybe this is just a stepping stone for me to go somewhere where I can actually be my full self.’ “

Now, McCarthy will host a Sirius XM radio show and continue to plan her wedding to fiance Donnie Wahlberg. Although she says she hates celebrities, Wahlberg’s famous brother and McCarthy’s cohost Shepherd will be invited to the couple’s small, 80-person ceremony.
