Hollywood’s current tale of early-in-life fame and fortune leading to drugs and an ensuing downward life spiral belongs to … Jeremy London.
The “Party of Five” and “7th Heaven” star tells People that his rise to fame led him to pick up a dangerous drug habit.
“I was treated like royalty,” says London. “It was hard for my brain to accept.”
The 37-year-old actor says that prescription pill abuse was partially to blame for the demise of his marriage to actress Melissa Cunningham. They share a 3-year-old son, Lyrik.
London attempted to show he can be a good dad and fight his drug addiction by going to a rehab center back in September 2009. Prior to that, things looked pretty bleak.
“There were times I didn’t care if I died,” he says. “I felt like I was losing everything.”
